HILLSIDE — The Union County Freeholder Board recently celebrated the re-opening of the children’s wading pool at the Margaret M. Roche Memorial Swimming facility at 1200 Central Avenue in Hillside. The wading pool and main pool were recently renovated in part through the Union County Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation trust fund. The county contributed $75,000 from the trust fund—with a match from Hillside–to install sprinklers and spill buckets at the wading pool, and make it ADA compliant. Additionally, the funds were used to update the filtration system at the main pool for adults and teens.
