Woodbridge Continues To Accept Donations For Colonia Garden Apt. Fire Victims

WOODBRIDGE – The township is still collecting donations to help the victims of Tuesday’s fire at the Colonia Garden apartment complex. Mayor John E. McCormac said that the outpouring of donations and community support “has been nothing short of incredible.”

Officials are asking that the community hold off on any further donations of clothing, but noted that the fire victims can still use donations of toiletries and personal care items and gift cards. Donations can be dropped-off at the Mayor’s Office, Municipal Building, One Main Street or at the Woodbridge Community Center, 600 Main Street, Woodbridge. Monetary donations in the form of checks should be made payable to: McCormac Community Charity Fund and dropped-off or mailed to: Office of the Mayor, Municipal Building, One Main Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.

Victims and displaced residents of the Colonia Gardens apartment fire are instructed to go to the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel, 621 E. Woodbridge Avenue, Avenel, where they can obtain clothing and receive other forms of aid and assistance. The church is open today from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
