NEW BRUNSWICK—State Theatre will present Ted Nugent on Monday, July 30, at 8p.m. Nugent makes a stop in New Brunswick as part of his Great White Buffalo Tour and will perform his greatest hits from the last 45 years. Tickets range from $35-85.
Nugent’s immense guitar talents have solidified his place among the legends of rock. His impressive career spans five decades of multi-platinum music which consists of 35 albums, 52 tours, and 40 million albums sold worldwide. His hit songs include “Cat Scratch Fever” and “Stranglehold” along with Damn Yankees classics “High Enough” and “Fred Bear” and the Amboy Dukes’ “Journey to the Center of the Mind.”
Nugent is recognized as the world’s leading guitar showman since he has been performing annually since 1967 and has performed live over 6,000 times. In 1977, 1978, and 1979, he was ranked the number one grossing tour act in the world. His remarkable talents and over-the-top stage presence have earned Nugent the nickname “Motor City Madman.”
Beyond his established music career, Nugent has also appeared in television and film. He was the star of VH1 reality show’s “Supergroup” and “Surviving Nugent” as well as “Wanted: Ted or Alive” on Versus. He has also made guest appearances in several shows like “The Simpsons,” “That 70s’ Show,” and “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.” Nugent made his feature film debut in the 2008 film “Beer for My Horses” with Toby Keith.
