ELIZABETH — A Roselle man was sentenced to 18 years in state prison on Friday, July 6, after pleading guilty to first degree robbery earlier this year, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced.

Derrick Fullman, 31, robbed an Elizabeth variety store with a handgun in May 2010. At the time he netted nearly $600 in cash and several mobile phones, said Assistant Prosecutor Brent A. Bramnick, who prosecuted the case. Following an investigation he was arrested a few weeks later.

Fullman, a confirmed member of the Crips street gang, must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole, said Bramnick.
