LINDEN – Three teens assaulted and robbed a pizza deliveryman in front of a home on the 1100 block of Dill Avenue early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The 22-year-old victim told police that he saw a man standing on the front steps of the house he was delivering to. He called the phone number to verify the address before getting out of his car. Once he did, the man asked him if he had change for a $100 bill. The victim answered “yes” and noticed a second man walk from the side of the house towards him. The victim also heard a third person approaching from behind.

The suspects began to punch the victim and demanded that he give up all of his money. They took approximately $60 and fled on foot. The victim drove himself to Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, where he was treated for a contusion on the back of his head and a cut lip.

According to police, the victim described his attackers as a trio of dark-skinned, medium build men in their late teens. One had shoulder-length dreadlocks.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Det. Kevin Mikolajczyk at 1-908-474-8530 or email crimetips@police.lindenes-nj.org.
