Bears Bring Broadway & Baseball To Newark

NEWARK — Broadway composer Neil Berg is bringing his musical, “Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway” to Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark. An ensemble of the best variety from several popular Broadway musicals, the show will be performed prior to the Newark Bears baseball game on Saturday, July 14.

“Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway,” which will be hosted and musically directed by Berg, will recreate the greatest moments from the finest shows of the century featuring the actual stars of shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar and Jekyll & Hyde.

The show will begin at 3:30 p.m. Following the performance, there will be a meet-and-greet with the stars of the show.

At 6:35 p.m., the Bears will take on the Quebec Capitales in a Can-Am League contest.

Berg’s show has toured the country raising funds for Covenant House. Proceeds from the performance on July 14 will go to Covenant House in Newark.

Covenant House is the largest privately-funded agency in New Jersey that provides food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless youth between the ages of 18 and 21.

Tickets are $20. Fans can see both the musical and the game by purchasing a ticket at or by calling 1-973-848-1000.
