EDISON — Women’s volleyball will be offered at Middlesex County College, starting this fall.

“Volleyball is growing in popularity all over the state,” said Bob Wisniewski, the athletic director. “We’ll be the fifth community college in New Jersey to offer volleyball, and I suspect that that number will increase in the near future.” The others are Atlantic Cape Community College, Bergen, Passaic and Union County College.

Wisniewski said he is seeking to increase the number of women athletes at the college. “Volleyball is a great sport,” he said. “I coached volleyball in high school for 10 to 12 years, and the quality of play has gotten better and better.”
