SOUTH BRUNSWICK — Middlesex County students entering fifth through eighth grades are invited to attend a summer day program at the county’s extension office called “Eco-Adventures at the EARTH Center.” The program will be held Aug. 27 through 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the EARTH Center in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, South Brunswick.
The program focuses on environmental stewardship and will have a different theme for each day including Resource Conservation or Addressing Climate Change. Most days will begin with a team-building exercise to help students get acquainted. Hands-on activities will explore topics like ecology, water conservation and issues such as alternative energy, earth-friendly gardening, and climate change.
Wednesday will feature a field trip. Arrangements can be made for kids with special needs. During the end of the week, students will write and video public service announcements related to conservation of the environment.
The registration deadline for Eco-Adventures at the EARTH Center is Aug. 1.
