PERTH AMBOY—The city will celebrate the Andes culture and heritage on Saturday, June 23 from noon-6 p.m. at Fink Park located at Smith Street and Madison Avenue.
“I look forward to this celebration as the community gathers to learn and enjoy the Andes native music, food and culture,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz.
The artists will feature traditional music, folk dancing, poetry, arts and crafts and native clothing of Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia and Chile. The event will also include performances by Centro Cultural Khana de Bolivia, Tally Llaqta Tusuy Peru, Grupo el Hornero de Uruguay y Argentina, Bambuquitos de Colombia, Ecuatorian group KEMA and other groups.
This event is free, co-sponsored by the City of Perth Amboy and Business Improvement District and made possible by a grant from the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission. A rain date has been scheduled for Saturday, June 30 from 12-6 p.m.
