Two Brothers Arrested For Plainfield Murder

PLAINFIELD — Two brothers from Plainfield were arrested and charged yesterday with the May 10 shooting death of a city man, Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas, Jr. announced. The arrests followed an intense investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force.

Rickeem Booker, 22, and Ricky Booker, 23, are charged with the murder of Manuel Moscoso, which occurred at the intersection of Roosevelt and East Front Street in Plainfield. They face counts of felony murder, robbery, and weapons possession.

Ricky Booker was charged yesterday while in the Union County Jail on an unrelated charge. He is being held on $2 million bail. Rickeem Booker was arrested last night in Plainfield and is being held on $1 million bail.

The victim’s body was discovered around 4:19 a.m. on May 10. He was first believed to be the victim of a fatal hit and run accident, but his death was quickly established as a homicide.

These criminal charges are mere accusations. The defendants is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
