CRANFORD — The Cranford United Methodist Church will welcome new pastor Rev. Dr. William Taylor Noll on Sunday, July 1. Dr. Noll previously served congregations in Plainfield, Belvidere, Verona and Midland Park and most recently the United Methodist Church in Washington, N.J. He’s a graduate of Drew University and New York Theological Seminary. Dr. Noll is married to Rev. Fran Lawrie Noll, who serves as the Northern Shore District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church.
Dr. Noll shared his excitement about coming to Cranford saying, “The Cranford United Methodist Church is a wonderful congregation with a tremendous outreach to the local community and the wider world. I’m looking forward to serving.”
Cranford’s current pastor is Rev. Dr. Edwin F. Hann III. He and his wife, Rev. Carol Freeman Hann, are retiring after serving many years in Cranford.
Cranford United Methodist Church has served the community and beyond for 150 years. In recent years the church has added a contemporary worship service, The Christian Connection, a Christian-based afterschool program and, most recently, a garden to feed those in need to address the growing needs of the community.
Cranford United Methodist Church offers a contemporary service at 9 a.m. on Sunday in Randolph Hall. This service offers a praise band, an open children’s area within the service and casual attire. A second service is also offered at 10 a.m. in the main sanctuary with traditional prayer, scripture, hymns and choral music. Nursery care and Sunday school are offered at 10:00 a.m.
Cranford United Methodist Church is located at 201 Lincoln Avenue, Cranford.
