NORTH BRUNSWICK – With temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s or higher today and tomorrow, the township has announced three “Comfort Center” locations available to residents.
The following locations are available as “Comfort Centers” in cases of extreme heat:
- North Brunswick Municipal Complex, 710 Hermann Road (weekdays from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
- North Brunswick Library, 880 Hermann Road (Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 5 p.m.
- North Brunswick Senior Center, 15 Linwood Place (weekdays from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity may combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Under such conditions it is wise to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, check on elderly relatives and neighbors. The very old and the very young are most susceptible to the heat.
