EDISON – Due to the extreme temperatures expected today and tomorrow, state officials have issued an excessive heat warning through Friday, June 22.
The Edison Senior Citizen Center, located at 2963 Woodbridge Avenue, is a township “cooling center.” Township residents may call 1-732-248-7345 if they should need transportation to visit the center to cool off.
Residents are advised to
- Stay indoors or in air conditioning as much as possible
- Cool down with a cool shower or bath
- If outside, stay in the shade, wear sunscreen and loose fitting light colored clothes
- Drink water regularly, limit alcohol and sugary drinks
- Never leave pets or young children in the car
