PERTH AMBOY – Police arrested two men who were allegedly involved in narcotic activity in the area of Neville and Penn streets on Friday evening.
At 7:08 p.m. on June 15, detectives Mabner Terron and David Guzman of the Perth Amboy Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau arrested Jonathon Gallegos, 26 and Grzegorz Tulowiecki, 28 on drug charges.
The detectives were in the area of Neville Street and Penn Street and observed the defendants engaging in alleged narcotic activity. Once the alleged transaction was completed, both individuals were taken into custody. Police recovered were several small clear plastic knotted baggies of suspected crack cocaine and $153 in U.S. currency.
Gallegos was charged with distribution of crack cocaine, distribution of crack cocaine within 500 feet of a public housing complex and possession of crack cocaine. Bail was set at $50,000 with no 10% option by Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch with the requirement of a bail source hearing.
Tulowiecki was charged with possession of crack cocaine.
Police said that the total street value of the crack cocaine seized is $150.
The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
