Wardlaw-Hartridge Seniors Receive Awards At Farewell Dinner

EDISON — The Class of 2012 of The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison gathered with parents, faculty and staff members and administrators at the annual Senior Farewell Dinner on Thursday, June 7.

Upper School Head Rhona Eserner welcomed the guests and Andrew Webster, head of school, made opening remarks. Seniors Billy Buchbinder of Scotch Plains (piano), Milika Griffiths of Edison (vocal), Ashley Martin and Aneesa Sonawalla of Edison (vocal duet) provided musical entertainment during the early part of the dinner hour.

Three faculty members gave representative addresses covering the three divisions of the school: Ellen Colandrea (Lower), Tanda Tucker (Middle) and Dawn Francavilla (Upper). Aneesa Sonawalla, Student Council President, led a Senior Toast to Teachers. Skyla Choi of Fort Lee, Class of 2012 president, led a Senior Toast to Parents and also presented the senior class photo to Mrs. Eserner. Jimmy Nolan of Colonia made the yearbook dedication to Mrs. Jan Yates.

Senior Awards of Distinction were presented to Skyla Choi (W-H Pin), Aneesa Sonawalla (Alumni Association Award, Stevenson Award and Headmaster’s Cup), Brian Downing of Scotch Plains (Parents’ Association Award) and Jessica Clarke of Scotch Plains (Upper School Head’s Award).

The evening concluded with dessert and a retrospective senior video presentation.
