LINDEN – Last Friday, members of the Linden Police Department’s Narcotics Squad raided an apartment on the 200 block of West Price Street where they seized drugs and a handgun and arrested five people, including four family members.
Following a month-long investigation, officers raided the apartment on June 1 at 3:50 p.m. They found 116 oxycodone pills, 40 folds of heroin, marijuana, $2,500in cash, and a derringer handgun reported stolen from Virginia, authorities said.
Oren W. Wildman Jr., 23, was arrested as the alleged ringleader and was being held on $100,000 cash bail at Union County Jail. His parents, Oren W. Wildman, 51, and Evette Wildman, 46, and sister, Ashley Wildman, 21, as well as Darius D. Jones, 22, were also arrested and released on summonses pending a county court date.
All defendants were charged with possession and distribution of heroin and oxycodone; distribution within 500 feet of J.T.G. Recreation Center and within 1,000 feet of Public School # 8; possession of a firearm while committing a narcotics offense, receiving stolen property, and possession of marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia.
The police department’s SWAT team assisted in the raid on the residence.
The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
