PERTH AMBOY – On Friday, May 25, Perth Amboy police arrested two city residents on drug charges after executing search warrants, authorities said.
At 4:30 p.m., members of Special Investigations Bureau executed a Superior Court Search Warrant at an apartment on the 300 block of Lawrence Street. Police seized approximately 116 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and packaging paraphernalia from the residence, according to authorities. Police said that the street value of the drugs was approximately $2,000
Joshua Mandry, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch set bail at $35,000 with no 10 percent option. The investigation was lead by Detective Mohamed Mohamed.
At 10 p.m., members of the Special Investigations Bureau and the Detective Bureau executed a Superior Court Search Warrant at an address on the 100 block of Broad Street.
Darrell Thomas, 32, who was charged with possession of crack cocaine & heroin, possession of crack cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park and 1,000 feet of a school zone.
Police recovered approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine and 20 decks of heroin with a total street value of approximately $1,200 after searching Thomas, authorities said. The investigation was lead by Detective David Guzman.
The charges against Mandry and Thomas are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
