JRF, City Create Fund To Help Perth Amboy Fire Victims

PERTH AMBOY — The Jewish Renaissance Foundation (JRF), in collaboration with the City of Perth Amboy, will serve as a central collection point for monetary donations for the victims of the Cortlandt Street Fire.

Early Sunday morning the fire destroyed four connected homes, injuring three people and leaving 47 homeless, including 10 children.

Organizations throughout the city, are coming together to aid the fire victims. The City of Perth Amboy, and the Jewish Renaissance Foundation have collaborated to create the Cortlandt Street Fire Fund to collect and distribute monetary donations to the effected families.

To make a monetary donation, individuals, local businesses or corporations should visit the Jewish Renaissance Foundation website at: www.jrfnj.org or mail checks, money orders and/or gift cards to: The Jewish Renaissance Foundation, Attn.: Cortlandt Street Fire Fund, 149 Kearny Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ. 08861.

Due to the lack of storage capacity, the JRF and the City of Perth Amboy have decided to collect only monetary donations at this time.

The Jewish Renaissance Foundation is a non-profit, nonsectarian organization that responds to the needs of its neighbors and is committed to helping families, the basic unit of our society.
