EAST RUTHERFORD – State Fair Meadowlands will hold its first-ever photo contest, sponsored by Rite Aid, at the fair this year, from June 22 through July 8 at the New Meadowlands Fairgrounds, next to the Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford. Fairgoers are invited to bring their cameras and mobile phones to capture their best moments – riding rides, playing games, attending spectacular shows, or devouring delicious fair food. Categories will be Food, Entertainment, and Rides & Attractions.
The contest will take place the entire length of the fair, with three rounds of judging on June 25, July 2 and July 10. Entrants can email photos, in JPEG format, to firstname.lastname@example.org Submissions must contain photographer’s name, hometown, phone number and email address to be considered. Participants must be 18 or older to submit photos, or have consent from a parent or guardian to register. Each household may submit only three photos per category.
There will be several winners throughout the three rounds of judging, but only one Grand Prize winner for the 2012 fair. For the three rounds of judging, photographers can compete for category prizes, including first place and honorable mention.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a Rite Aid gift card valued at $200. First place winners from each category will receive a Rite Aid gift card valued at $50. Honorable mentions will receive Rite Aid gift card valued at $40. There can only be one winner per household.
Winning photographs will be posted on State Fair Meadowlands’ Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pintrest, blog and Flickr pages, and could appear on future fair billboards. Once submitted, photos become the property of State Fair. For a copy of the contest rules, visit http://www.njfair.com/photo_contest.php.
