St. Anthony’s Italian Family Feast Returns To Roselle Park Church

ROSELLE PARK — You know that summer has arrived in Roselle Park when the Church of the Assumption holds its annual St. Anthony Italian Family Feast. Once again it will be four days of faith, fun, family and friends, packed full of delicious homemade cooking, an Italian-style café, food venders, non-stop entertainment, music, amusements, and games. The events, located on the church grounds at 113 Chiego Place, will begin on Thursday, June 7 and run through Sunday, June 10. Hours: Thursday from 6-10 p.m., Friday from 6-11 p.m., Saturday from 4-11 p.m., and Sunday from 2-10 p.m.

Local dance and karate schools are scheduled to put on exhibitions, and Roselle Park’s Poet Laureate, Leona Seufert, will do a poetry reading on June 9 at 4:30. On June 10 from 4-8 p.m. there will be the Reeds, Rhythm & All That Brass Big Band.

It is also a faith oriented celebration focusing on devotion to St. Anthony. After the noon Mass on June 10, there will be a procession through the streets with the statue of St. Anthony accompanied with music by the Tony Neglia Band. The 100-year-old statue, refurbished last year after languishing in storage since the current church was built, was part of the parish when it was founded in 1907.

Pre-Sale ride tickets will be available after all Masses with a discounted price of $12 per sheet. Take advantage of the “Pay One Price Ride Night” on June 7 where $25 gets you an unlimited ride bracelet. There will also be nightly 50/50s and a SUPER 50/50
