One choice can change many lives... Faith or Fate by John Ruggiero

CLARK — Students in Jackie Grigoli’s third grade class at the Valley Road School in Clark examined lima beans while studying a unit on plants. Students first examined a dry lima bean. They then predicted what they thought might be inside the lima bean. Next, students peeled apart a wet lima bean to discover the seed coat, embryo, and stored food. Students had to record their observations. To continue this activity the class will be examining lima beans and how they grow based on the amount of light and the amount of water given. In the photograph above, third graders Zachary Katz, Marisa Venturella, and Dakota Svec study the characteristics of a dry lima bean. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
