CLARK — Students in Jennifer Lewis’s second grade class put a good deal planning and hard work into their free verse poem for Mother’s Day. The second graders first had to interview either their Mom or a loved one who knows her very well. Then the students turned their information into a poem all about their Mom. The second graders went through the writing process even using a tool such as a rhyming dictionary. The poems were then typed and framed to make a beautiful keepsake and a special Mother’s Day present. At the tea, each child read their poem in front of all of the Moms. A reception followed where the children could spend time with their Mothers and enjoy refreshments. (Photo courtesy of Clark Public Schools)
