LINDEN – Helen Czarny Kenny, a city resident for the past 46 years, was honored as Linden’s Senior Citizen of the Year for 2012 last Friday. (Shown above, Mayor Richard Gerbounka presents her with the award.) Kenny is a trustee of the Linden Citizen Association, runs Summer Bingo every Wednesday at the John T. Gregorio Center and is an active member of the Tuesday Men’s Club. She can be found “Knitting for a Cause” every Tuesday morning at the Gregorio Center. A foundering member of the 8th Ward Neighborhood Watch, she is the former president of the 8th Ward Recreation Circle and a Former Democratic Committee person from the 8th Ward. A volunteer for the Mayor’s Youth Commission, she chaperones each year at the Linden High School Graduation Bash and every Friday and Saturday night at the Linden Multi-Purpose Center for the Masterpiece Program.
