STATE – The average retail gasoline price in New Jersey has fallen 4.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.62 per gallon yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.3 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.73 per gallon, according to gasoline price website NewJerseyGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in New Jersey during the past week, prices yesterday were 22.7 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 14.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 16.5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 20.3 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

“While pump prices may continue their decline outside the West Coast, any refinery blip certainly has the potential for localized hotspots, and motorists should be aware of that,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
