LINDEN — Registration for the Linden Public Library’s children’s summer reading club started on May 1. Sign up in the Children’s Room at the library, then read books, and win prizes. This year’s theme is “The World after Dark,” so featured books will offer stories about the moon and stars; astronauts; life in the arctic; and nighttime creatures, both real and imaginary.
The library’s children’s department will also have weekly small groups for children who live in Linden. The pre-school group is for four and five year-olds. The primary group is for six year-olds, and the elementary group is for children from seven through nine years of age.
The library’s toddler program, “The Terrific Toddlers,” will continue to meet on Monday and Tuesday mornings. A parent or guardian must come in person to register each child (the child does not have to be present). These programs are intended for children who are at home for the summer, not organized groups such as summer camps or daycare programs.
For more information, pick up a summer program flyer at the library, 31 East Henry Street, or e-mail the Children’s Librarian, Karen Gray at email@example.com
