Remembering the Past by Diane Norek Harrisonby Diane Norek Harrison

WOODBRIDGE-I received an email after my Sept. 2, 2011 column with the mention of Maple Hill Dairy. “I just came across your story when I was searching for information on Maple Hill Dairy in Woodbridge. My boyfriend’s father use to work at the Dairy. I am in search of a milk bottle from the Dairy. I have searched all over the internet with no luck. Do you happen to know of any connections that I might be able to contact that they might just be willing to sell me one?”

If anyone has a bottle from here they are willing to sell please contact me to pass on the information. She is also looking for more information on Maple Hill Dairy. If you have more information on the dairy to pass on to her and also to be used in my column, please let me know!

A few past businesses from around Woodbridge: Powell Grocery Store. On Route 1 was Drucker’s Electronics and Dean’s Carpet. Dairy Queen was on Plainfield Avenue and Route 1. In 1944, Speedway Autos Sales Co. was on St. George Avenue.

Woodbridge Center had Heroes World and more recently the mall saw the closing of Friendly’s.
