CLARK–Students at Frank K. Hehnly Elementary School in Clark recently enjoyed the Scholastic Book Fair. The theme was “Book Fair Luau: It’s a Reading Celebration!” Each child had the opportunity to visit the fair with their class. Parents were invited to school to assist their children with their books and also aid other students with their selections. Parents also helped the classroom libraries grow by donating books chosen from the teacher’s wish lists. Every gift was recognized with a bookplate identifying the family name as the donor. The fair was a successful literacy event, making over $7,600 for the school. The proceeds help purchase birthday books and summer reading books for over 500 children at Hehnly each year.
