Learn About Baseball Scoring Tonight In Cranford

CRANFORD–Did you know that there are 23 ways to get to first base, including a walk, hit by a pitch, catcher interference, fair ball hits runner, sacrifice fly dropped, and a single?

Hear the history of baseball scoring from John Nolan, the official scorer of the Somerset Patriots, and ask, “How would I score it?” on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center, 224 Walnut Avenue.

Entitled “Scoring Oddities of Baseball,” the program promises to be a fun way to focus on America’s beloved pastime and the start of the 2012 Major League season. Nolan will share his knowledge of baseball scoring and encourage audience participation. Wear your favorite team hat and shirt. Admission is free and all are welcome. The program is sponsored by the Cranford Public Library.
