GARWOOD – Next week, Garwood P.B.A. Local 117 Civic Association will present a fundraiser for a local Marine who was injured while serving in Afghanistan.
Cpl. Greg Caron was wounded by an improvised explosive device, losing both of his legs and a finger as well as suffering a broken collarbone. The Garwood P.B.A. Civic Association is holding a benefit to raise money to help assist the Caron family. Some of the proceeds will be used to offset the costs of day-to-day bills and having a handicap ramp installed in his home.
The fundraiser will be held on Thursday, May 10, from 7-11 p.m. at the Westwood Banquet Hall, 438 North Avenue, Garwood. The $45 ticket cost includes food and an open bar featuring domestic draft beer and house wine. The Union County Police & Fire Pipes & Drums and Sharp Edge will provide live music.
