Clark Police Blotter: Items Taken From Cars On Carolina & Picton Streets

Individuals arrested and charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

April 25 at 8:47 a.m. – Officer Dan Pitts investigated a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle, which was parked at a Rose Terrace residence.

April 27 at 2:02 p.m. – In the vicinity of Oak Ridge Road and Raritan Road, Officer Christopher Tuccio arrested Brooklyn, N.Y. resident Samuel Ibiyinka-Smith, 29, and charged him with possession of fraudulent credit cards. Ibiyinka-Smith was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail.

April 28 at 12:26 p.m. – In the vicinity of 76 Central Avenue, Officer Antonio Manata arrested Westfield resident Edwin Simmons, 22, and charged him with possession of CDS with intent to distribute. Simmons was subsequently released after posting $10,000 bail. Also arrested was Linden resident Mice Lawson, 24, on an outstanding warrant from Watchung for contempt of court. Lawson was subsequently released after posting bail.

April 29 at 2:57 a.m. – In the vicinity of Raritan Road and Central Avenue, Officer Brian Renda arrested Scotch Plains resident Akhil Patel, 34, and charged him with DWI. Patel was subsequently released pending a court date.

April 30 at 8:09 a.m. – Officer Daniel Pitts investigated reports of thefts of items from motor vehicles, which were parked at multiple residences on Carolina Street and Picton Street.
