CLARK — First grade students in Miss Price’s class at Frank K. Hehnly Elementary School in Clark recently learned to identify shapes of attribute blocks in math class. They practiced describing shapes to their friends while playing “Make My Design.” During this game, students named and described geometric figures and the spatial relationships in the design to their partner. The partners had a folder that separated their desks so that the other person could not see the design. One student created a design, and then using only words, told the other student how to “Make My Design”. After the instructions were given, the partners removed the folder to see how closely the designs matched.
