Honors English Students Spend Easter In Europe

ELIZABETH–Ten members of the senior class at Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth accompanied their Honors English teacher, Adina Medina, on a tour of London and Paris during Easter break, April 4 through April 12.

According to senior Chloe Easton, “The trip to London was an eye-opening new experience. Our small group experienced everyday life in London. We also explored British literature more in depth and were able to grasp a better understanding on muses and inspirations of some of the most famous British authors of all time.”

During the tour, students attended a performance of The 39 Steps in London and had the opportunity to visit such European landmarks as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Hampton Court, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Students also traveled to Bath and visited Stonehenge and Warner Brother’s Harry Potter Exhibit to further explore British history, literature and culture.

“This trip brought so much of the content that is taught in our textbooks to life for our students, allowing them the chance to walk in the steps of Kings and Queens, while connecting significant classroom lessons to real life experiences,” Medina reflected upon her return.

The student travelers included: Jennifer Abbondante, Aiesha Burgess, Cheila Cardoso, DeAzah Davis, Chloe Easton, Abieyuwa Omokaro, Cinthya Pizzaro, Vanessa Rodriguez, Morganna Silva, and Ariana Taveras.
