EDISON — A group of 14 eighth graders answered 200 grueling questions during the Knowledge Master Open on the afternoon of Monday, April 16. The contest challenged students with questions on topics such as history, mathematics, geography, science and more.
The team, captained by Max Needle of Scotch Plains and with Aafreen Zaidi of Carteret at the keyboard, used logic and strategy to maximize their points. It was a long haul but the team answered 168 out of 200 correctly for a total of 1,179 points. The students showed great teamwork.
Other participants were Lara Albrechcinski of Linden, Anisa Ahmed of Scotch Plains, Duran Gonzalez of Rahway, Sydney Hughes of Parlin, Sahil Kassam of Scotch Plains, Salman Mansuri of Edison, Kunal Patel of Edison, Sonali Shah of Edison, Tal Sherman of Plainfield, Noah Toney of South Orange, Jonathan Trilleras of Plainfield and Arian Vavila of Bridgewater.
