The older I get, the slower I move. I do thank God that I’m still capable mentally, although some might say they wonder about it at times.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned the fact about my Mercedes, but I didn’t tell you that someone had cut in between two cars and caught my back passenger side door and fender. Would you believe, I was literally ready to cry? It took me two weeks to get a phone number of the person’s insurance company involved.
I was asked it I would give a verbal account of the incident that would be recorded. No problem! I got no follow-up for at least 10 days, so I called the representative and was told my claim was denied. You don’t want to know what my reaction was to that, I’m sure.
But if you know my personality, you’ve also got to know I had no intention of giving up on that deal. I was not given a reason for the denial, so I contacted my company and was told I had to be given a reason in writing. Needless to say, I got through to the manager of that company to again explain was to what had happened.
Lo and behold, the original representative called back to make an appointment with me to review the damage. I must say, the person who came was a pleasant surprise who was most thorough and competent. I was compensated and now need to have it taken care of, but also want to say that anyone who may have had a similar situation knows that we are the ones who are inconvenienced.
It always amazes me, when you consider insurance coverage, they insist on getting your money seven days in advance or you may be considered delinquent. It took me two months to have my problems resolved. Heaven help anyone who may be on the other side of the fence at some point. I’m sure there are those who would know what I’m writing about.
