HILLSIDE—The Pingry School invites alumni and friends to “The Sounds of Pingry,” a special event celebrating the school’s past and present on April 29, at Pingry’s former Hillside Campus, now Kean University. This concert, part of Pingry’s 150th Anniversary Lecture and Performance Series, will take place in Enlow Recital Hall and will feature the current Pingry Jazz Ensemble, Buttondowns, and Balladeers.
The students will be performing on the stage of what many alumni remember as Pingry’s Chapel. Other memories of school life decades ago will be rekindled when Special Assistant to the Headmaster Miller Bugliari ’52 leads a tour of the campus at noon. On his tour, Bugliari will tell stories and guide alumni through the building to see the indoor and outdoor facilities—some are the same, and some have been modernized. A cocktail reception will be held at 1 p.m. in the Butterfly Garden, formally the Fiske Garden, followed by the concert at 2 p.m. and a dessert reception with the student performers at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at www.pingry.org or by contacting 150th Anniversary Coordinator Lynne Brum at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-908-647-5555, extension 1295. Seats are limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Kean University’s East Campus is located at 215 North Avenue, Hillside.
