METUCHEN — Each year, the Library of Congress’s Center for the Book sponsors a contest called Letters for Literature. Students are asked to write letters to the author of a favorite book, telling why this book inspired them. This year more than 2,500 New Jersey students submitted letters for this contest. Three sixth graders in Melissa Kovacs’ class at Edgar Middle School have been recognized for writing outstanding letters. Molly Walters, Reilly Lepak, and Ben Isler received honorable mention in the 4th-6th grade division and will be honored at a reception at Princeton University in May.
