CRANFORD – Over 300 patrons filled the Cranford Community Center for United Way of Greater Union County’s (UWGUC) Cranford Community Council 3rd annual “Taste of Cranford” event held on Sunday, March 11. The event generated more than $15,000, of which some of the proceeds will go directly to the 2012 designee Cranford Family Care a major supporter for the people of Cranford after Hurricane Irene flooded the area.
Over 80 patrons attended the pre-event VIP cooking demonstration hosted at Pairing Palate & Plate that also included a wine tasting by The Wine Seller.
The 2012 Program Sponsor for the event was Riverside Financial Services; other event partners included a host of local Cranford businesses and establishments.
“The success of this event again demonstrates that Cranford’s residents and businesses care for their neighbors and the community,” said James W. Horne, Jr., President & CEO of UWGUC. “Their generosity and the leadership of the Cranford Community Council enable organizations like ours to continue our work.”
“With the support of our dedicated volunteers and participation from some of Cranford’s best eateries, our event continues to be a great success,” said Jerry DeNigris, Chairman of the Cranford Community Council. “We continue to get bigger and better and look forward to hosting another phenomenal event again next year!”
