With tax day approaching, talk in Washington has focused on the “Buffet Rule” – a bill aimed at changing the way federal taxes are calculated for people who earn $1 million or more each year.
The proposal is named after billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who famously wrote that many of his staff members pay taxes at a higher rate than he does.
Eugene Kiely of FactCheck.org examined claims made by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden in support of the “Buffett Rule” and looked at how big of an impact it would have on the federal budget deficit.
