Book Discussion Group Reads “Room: A Novel” By Emma Donoghue

SPRINGFIELD–The Springfield Free Public Library’s (Really Good) Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. to discuss “Room: A Novel” by Emma Donoghue.

Five-year-old Jack and his mother live, eat, play and sleep in one room–an 11×11-foot space that is their prison. They are captives of the terrifying man Jack calls Old Nick. As Jack grows older and becomes more curious, it becomes clear that the room will not be able to hold him and his mother forever. When their insular world suddenly expands beyond the confines of the four walls, the consequences are piercing and extraordinary.

Discussions take place at 7 p.m. in the Palmer Museum. Refreshments are served. New members are welcome. To reserve your copy of the book call 1-973-376-4930 x229 or send an e-mail:

The Springfield Free Public Library is located at 66 Mountain Avenue, Springfield.
