STATE — Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum says he’s out of the race for president but the Pennsylvania politician has not asked New Jersey officials to take his name off the ballot as county clerks draw lots to determine placement of candidates running in the June primary.

Ballot position for Republicans running for president will be determined in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties tomorrow, Friday April 13.

Santorum’s slate of delegate candidates include Nora D. Brower of Woodbridge, Carrie and Stephen Chudkowski of Sayreville, Bruce Kesselman of Old Bridge, Anthony Paskitti of Old Bridge, and Gerald Weisfogel of Piscataway

In addition to Gov. Chris Christie, the delegate candidates supporting Mitt Romney include April Bengivenga of South Plainfield, Brian Kolendriski of Edison, Lucille Panos of Old Bridge, Ronald Perry of Rahway, and Samuel D. Thompson of Old Bridge

Among the delegate candidates supporting Newt Gingrich are Dianne and Joseph S. Bukowski of East Brunswick, Philip Kaufman of Monroe, and Christopher Struben of Colonia.

The delegate candidates supporting Ron Paul include Orian Breaux of Roselle Park, James Chou of Edison, Antonios Drivas of Scotch Plains, Michael Feeley of Fords, Edward J. Helmstetter Jr. of Cranford, Mark A. Kirkconnell of Roselle, Jeremy Marcus of Monroe, Victoria Manduca of Fanwood, Judith Anne Shamy-O’Connor of New Brunswick, and Zachary Wisnowski of Monroe.

Fifty Republican delegates are at stake in New Jersey’s primary on June 5, which is a winner-take-all format. A total of 1,144 are needed to win the G.O.P. nomination outright. As of April 10, Romney has 661 delegates, Gingrich has 136 and Paul 51. Santorum had 285 before suspending his campaign.

You would think that it is a no-brainer for the County Clerks. What is Mr. Santorum going to do, jump back in the race?
This placeholder will only confuse the electorate and should not be allowed. Besides those supporting Mr. Santorum could only support Ron Paul! Ron Paul is the ONLY Conservative, Constitutionalist that is running. GO RON PAUL!
