CLARK – Last month, Jennifer Festa, the Webelos 1 Den Leader, and Clark’s Cub Pack 145 scouts, visited Bryan Klimchak and his Puppetry Club students at Arthur L. Johnson High School. The scouts were preparing for their “Showman Badge” which focuses heavily on puppetry. Having read about Arthur L. Johnson High School’s Puppetry Club in a local newspaper, Festa wanted to have scouts visit the high school and learn more about the art of puppetry.
Klimchak’s students did a presentation on the art and history of puppetry as well as a demonstration on the use of the different types of puppets. Various puppets were demonstrated in front of the group focusing on puppet movement and manipulation as well as some puppet history. The Arthur L. Johnson High School Puppetry Club also treated the Cub Pack scouts to a performance of an original skit on good hygiene upon completion of their presentation.
