JACKSON – Earlier this afternoon, Six Flags Great Adventure “topped off” its massive, 24-story SkyScreamer extreme swing ride. The tallest piece of the ride, weighing approximately 10,000 lbs., was carefully set in place by a 262-foot-tall crane two days before the park’s season opening, April 5. Preparations will continue with control system programming, ride testing, inspections and certification. SkyScreamer is expected to debut to the general public on May 22 as part of a newly-themed area, Adventure Alley. A music-themed scrambler, Déjà Vu, and flying elephants ride, Air Jumbo, will also open May 22, with a new bumper cars ride, Fender Benders, opening in June. All four rides will make their home in Adventure Alley. (Photos courtesy of Six Flags Great Adventure)
