LINDEN – A Linden fireman had his car stolen while he stopped at a convenience store Friday morning, according to police.

The fireman, 37, left his car running with the keys inside the ignition when he went into the 7-11 on North Wood Avenue at 5:30 a.m. on March 30. When he came out of the store, he saw two men driving out of the parking lot in his silver 2008 Acura TL, police said.

Police were notified that the car was spotted in Parsippany on Sunday morning, when the driver had filled the tank and left the station without paying for the gas. It was last seen heading east on Route 46.

The car’s license plate number is YHC-28W. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact Det. Frank Leporino at 1-908-474-8535 or email crimetips@police.lindenes-nj.org.
