Union Library Announces April Children’s Programs

UNION — The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Main Library during the month of April:

Come in your pajamas for songs, stories and games at Bedtime Storytime to be held on Mondays, April 2nd and 23rd at 7:00pm. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

Mother Goose Time, for children 1 ½ – 2 ½ and their caregivers, will be held on Tuesdays, April 3rd, 10th and 24th at 10:30am. No registration required.

Preschool Storytime for children 3 ½ through Kindergarten will be held on Wednesdays, April 4th, 11th and 25th at 10:30am. No registration required.

Toddler Time, for children 2 ½ – 3 ½ and their caregivers, will be held on Thursdays, April 5th, 12th and 26th at 10:30am. No registration required.

Our Saturday Storytime and Craft Program will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 11:00am. Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome to attend. No registration required.

Author, Tamika Bradshaw, who wrote the children’s books, “Goodees” and “Goodees Deux” will appear at the Library on Saturday, April 7th at Noon for a meet and greet the author. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

A “Romping Roos-Kangaroos” Storytime and Craft Program will be held on Monday, April 9th at 7:00pm. Children of all ages are welcome to attend. No registration required.

The Awards Ceremony for the Casimir Pulaski Essay Contest Winners sponsored by the Union Public Library and the Union Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union will be held on Wednesday, April 11th at 7:00pm. The winners will read their award winning essays. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend this exciting event. No registration required.

The Union Public Library, with the help of the Union High School Key Club, has started a Library Lego Club for children ages 5 through 12. This is an opportunity for kids to get creative and build anything they choose. The library will provide the Legos, while the kids provide the imagination! All materials must stay at the library so bring your camera to document your creations. The Lego Club will meet on Thursdays, March 22nd, April 12th, May 17th and June 14th from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Caregivers are asked to stay in the library and are welcome to assist. The library is also looking for donations of gently used or new Legos for this program. The Union Public Library is starting an informal Homeschooling Meeting for homeschooling families. This will be a place to meet and share information and ideas with others and also become familiar with the Library and the resources we have to offer. Families are encouraged to bring their own board games to the meetings. Meetings will be help on Mondays, March 19th, April 16th, May 14th and June 11th from 10:30am to Noon. The children’s film, “Toy Story” will be shown on Monday, April 16th at 7:00pm. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

Come to the “Fancy Nancy Book Party” on Tuesday, April 17th at 11:00am. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

A “Dinosaur” Party will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at 11:00am. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

Color and Shape Bingo, for preschoolers and their caregivers, will be held on Thursday, April 19th at 11:00am. No registration required.

Book Bingo, for children who can read well, will be held on Thursday, April 19th at 2:00pm. No registration required.

The children’s film, “Hugo” will be shown on Friday, April 20th at 11:00am. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

“Robots” Storytime and Craft Program will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 11:00am. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Vauxhall Branch during the month of April:

A “Romping Roos-Kangaroos” Storytime and Craft Program for children, ages 4 – 5, and their caregivers will be held on Thursday, April 12th at 11:00am. Space is limited. Signup is required.

Holiday Vacation Movie Day on Tuesday, April 17th at 2:00pm. The film, “The Muppets’ Movie” will be shown. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend

Do you like to play Bingo? Come for Book Bingo on Thursday, April 19th at 2:00pm. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.

Children in grades 3 through 6 are invited to a School-Age Craft Program to be held on Thursday, April 26th at 3:30pm. Space is limited. Signup is required.
