WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) is hosting a photo contest on his Facebook page to gather images of New Jersey landmarks, scenery and cityscapes. The winning image will be unveiled on Friday, when the Senator’s Facebook page is converted from the current design to the new Timeline format. The winning image will be featured prominently as the cover photo on the top of the Senator’s new Facebook page.
“Photographs capturing the essence of our state are streaming in to the Facebook photo contest,” Lautenberg said. “I am proud to display these images on my Facebook page and promote the work of New Jersey’s talented photographers.”
In the first two days of the contest, Lautenberg has received more than 30 entries from across the state. The entries include photos of Paterson’s Great Falls; Sandy Hook, Cape May, and Long Beach Island lighthouses; the New Jersey Botanical Gardens in Ringwood; the Pinelands; an alpaca farm in Tabernacle; boardwalk scenes; and many more.
Lautenberg is accepting entries through Thursday, March 29. Photographers interested in participating in the contest should submit original photos of New Jersey to firstname.lastname@example.org. The photographer’s name and the location where the photo was taken must be included with the image. No more than three submissions per person, and the photo must be an original work.
