CLARK – Frank K. Hehnly Elementary School’s computer literacy teacher, and teacher of the year, Diane Rizzo, has been passing along her technology knowledge to the rest of the staff. Every Tuesday, before school begins, she organizes “Tech Tip Tuesday” for teachers to come and learn about new worthwhile websites for classroom use. She also demonstrates ways to implement them as effective instructional tools. Teachers learning about these sites have found them to be very beneficial, as they correlate them with the curriculum. Diane also instructs students in grades K-5 each week, visiting their classrooms with laptops for practice with technology. Each student uses a MacBook to learn age-appropriate, 21st century computer skills. The skills include tech terminology, word processing, keyboarding, digital citizenship, resource tools and multimedia projects. (Photo courtesy of Hehnly School)
