CLARK– Sherri D’Amico’s fifth grade students at Frank K. Hehnly Elementary School were recently visited by her son and former Hehnly student, Alex D’Amico. The students listened to stories read by Alex and learned about his passion for chess.

Alex explained how he is the owner and creator of D’Amico chess and corresponding website, which provides the opportunity to share his love of the game as a player, organizer and tutor. He started this when he was president of Rider University’s Chess Club, and is presently a law student at Fordham in NYC. The fifth graders enjoyed meeting their teacher’s son and hearing about what he had done since he left Hehnly.
