CLARK– Laura Venezio’s fifth grade students at Frank K. Hehnly Elementary School in Clark have enhanced their writing skills throughout the year. They created daily journal entries and have learned new techniques on how to be better authors and writers. Individually they decided on one story to perfect by examining what they wrote about the most in their journals.

The culmination of the project was the publishing party, where the students read their stories aloud in front of their classmates, families, Hehnly Principal Shirley Bergin, Elementary Supervisor Janeen Allmendinger, and Superintendent Kenneth Knops. The students also created a podcast for the audience to view their picture on the classroom smart board while listening to audio files of each student explaining what they have learned from their teacher and why they love writing.
