RAHWAY — On March 9th, 10th, and11th, Rahway Middle School’s Drama Club presented Disney’s Aladdin Jr. Auditions for the production took place in the fall. From there, over 55 students in grades sixth, seventh, and eighth were chosen to become part of this ensemble. Practice began in December where students studied their lines, learned stage directions and worked on other technical components of the show. Volunteers, including parents, spent time building the set, painting scenery, and creating costumes. The choral director assisted the cast members in learning their songs while the choreographer taught the featured dance numbers. This ensemble was under the direction of Stephanie Volino, assisted by Maureen Demsey and Susan Garretson, choreographed by Chelsea Gower, and choral direction given by Caroline DeFreitas and Joan Chilakos-Lopez.
