EDISON – The Wardlaw-Hartridge School student cast and crew put on three fabulous shows of the musical “Grease” from March 2-4 before sold-out crowds. Highlights of this year’s spring musical included ensemble numbers “Summer Lovin'” and “You’re the One That I Want.”
Nearly one-quarter of the Upper and Middle School student body was involved in the musical, including 13 seniors who participated in their final high school production: actors Danny Marques of Elizabeth as Danny, Aneesa Sonawalla of Edison as Sandy, Milika Griffiths of Edison as Rizzo, Brian Downing of Scotch Plains as Roger, Ashley Martin of Edison as Marty, Lauren Levine of Fanwood as Frenchy, Catherine Badalamenti of Scotch Plains as Patty Simcox, Diamond Carr of Plainfield as Miss Lynch, Jeanine Gill of Plainfield as a cheerleader and Marisa Carlucci of Edison as Blanche and crew members An Vu of Colonia, Marie Vlad of Colonia and Jaiminee Patel of Piscataway.
“We’re all still in the afterglow of this weekend’s run of Grease! Everyone in the audience came to have a good time and the students in the cast and crew delivered! This musical will be a performance that our W-H community will remember for a long time. I couldn’t be more proud of them,” said Sharon Byrne, the show’s music director and co-producer.
The cast also included Billy Nolan of Colonia as Kenickie, Nick Davis of Union as Sonny, Mairead Forrest of Parlin as Jan, Max Needle of Scotch Plains as Doody, Alex Barbet of Plainfield as Teen Angel and Vince Fontaine, Noah Fischer of Parsippany as Eugene, Brian Machoka of Edison as Johnny Casino, Neelam Patel of Edison as the Radio Singer, Antonia Santangelo of Rahway as Cha-Cha, Stephanie Smyczek of Edison as Sheila and Jonathan Trilleras of Plainfield as the Scientist.
